  • CDC activates emergency operations for monkeypox

  • “Vaccines will now be available to individuals ‘who had close physical contact with someone diagnosed with monkeypox, those who know their sexual partner was diagnosed with monkeypox, and men who have sex with men who have recently had multiple sex partners in a venue where there was known to be monkeypox or in an area where monkeypox is spreading’ “

  • Monkeypox outbreak is likely much bigger than the reports due to the hoops to jump through to get a test. Confirmed cases are over 300 right now.

  • Symptoms of monkeypox can be as little as a few lesions

COVID-19

  • COVID-19 cases are estimated to be 30x higher than reported

  • COVID vaccines are not as effective against new omicron variants

  • San Diego county is having a surge of new variants

  • Roe v. Wade overturn could result in faster spread of infections
